How can I contribute to Community Family Life Services?

CFLS accepts financial contributions via mail, phone or web. Checks or credit card information can be mailed to the Development and Volunteer Coordinator at our main address. Online payments can be made via our PayPal account. Credit card donations can also be processed over the phone by calling 202-347-0511.

I would like to make an in-kind donation. What kinds of donations do you accept?

We accept used clothing, shoes, blankets, toiletries and furniture, toys and books on certain occasions. We also accept non-perishable food, school supplies, metro-passes and a variety of other items necessary for our various programs. Please contact the Betty Washington at 202-347-0511 Ext. 3200 or via email at BWashington@cflsdc.org. to learn if CFLS has a current need for the items you would like to donate. What types of volunteer opportunities are there at Community Family Life Services?

HOW CAN I GET STARTED AS A VOLUNTEER?

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at CFLS! To get started as a volunteer please download and complete our volunteer application form. Completed forms may be submitted via email to BWashington@cflsdc.org, mailed to Volunteer Services; 305 E Street, NW; Washington, D.C. 20001, or faxed to 202-347-0520. Once your volunteer form is received and reviewed you will be contacted for a brief phone interview. We look forward to receiving your volunteer application!!

DOES COMMUNITY FAMILY LIFE SERVICES OFFER ANY INTERNSHIPS?

What kind of housing programs do you offer?

Community Family Life Services offers two housing programs, one for families with children and one for individuals. For more information on each housing program and the eligibility requirements click here.

Can Community Family Life Services help me if I need immediate assistance?

Food bags are distributed every Tuesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and at other times with a referral notice.

Clothing is distributed from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon to women on Wednesdays (by Appointment) and Thursdays (walk-ins are welcome), and to men on Fridays. Children's clothing is distributed from Wednesday to Friday.

CFLS Drop-in center also provides case management based on client needs (by appointment/walk-in) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

We provide clients with refreshments Wednesday - Friday from 10:00am - 12:00 noon.
